What to expect?

Ravmeddara is a real paradize for trekking and wildlife observation.

Trekking opportunities:

  • Walking up and down the Ravmeddara Gorge and visit the side valleys (at least 2 days)

  • Climbing up to the foot of Peak Patkhor, 6083m (at least 3 days)
  • Combining Ravmeddara with the neighbouring Jizev Gorge with its beautiful mountain lakes (at least 3 days)
  • Climbing up to Basid in upper Bartang valley (at least 2 days)

What to see?

  • Impressive mountainous landscape with rivers and streams, green valley bottoms, rocky slopes, glaciers and snow capped peaks
  • Old villages with traditional lifestyle, horticulture, agriculture, livestock breeding and various crafts (water mill, smithy, knitting of the famous Pamiri socks jurabi)

  • Ancient artefacts of daily and cultural lives as books, tools, guns, embroideries, remnants of castles, holy sites (mazar), petroglyphs
